GAUTENG

As a long time member and judge for SADAA I made the decision that I wanted to travel down and compete in the Boland RT's in Robertson this year with my rescue border collie Chase.

After many years of borrowing other peoples dogs to compete, finally i had a dog of my own and secretly wanted to show him off to all my SADAA friends from the Cape.

With my travel companion Jacques and his 2 dogs the 5 of us (dogs included) took 2 days to travel from Joburg to Robertson.

In addition to the agility RT's Chase and I had been preparing for months to compete in the extreme sports namely Treiball, Dock diving, mountain challenge and disk dog.

We had a great weekend and although not featuring in the placing for the games we had alot of fun and enjoyed every minute.

As for the rt's we had an amazing week and excelled in almost every trial. In total we had 4 first places, 1 second place, and 2 thirds. To break it down further we had 6 qualifications (clear rounds), 2 rounds with 5 faults and only 1 elimination. Quite an achievement for a dog adopted from the spca.

In addition to all the accollades, it was wonderful seeing old friends and making many new ones. Thanks to the boland team for organising a wonderful weekend  and here's to next year Chase and i winning the extreme  sports trophy!

Now that we are in A3 and J2 i look forward to more trials in joburg and growing sadaa in gauteng in 2012.
