WESTERN PROVINCE

DEE VAN COLLER

REGIONAL DIRECTOR

At the centre of SADAA's Western Province region is South Africa's Mother City, Cape Town. The city is known for its diverse cultures and famous landmarks such as Table Mountain. Western Province has the largest contingency of SADAA members and their Regional Trials can attract over 100 entries over a weekend.

Dee van Coller joined SADAA in 2004 with her first agility dog, Bambi, an SPCA crossbred Maltese terrier (or something). As a team, they had great fun for many years, reaching top grade in all disciplines before she retired. Dee then took over a rescue retriever-ridgeback-type from her sister. Dee and Luna were never the fastest team in the field, but they had staying power and a never-say-die attitude. Luna was Best Maxi Overall Dog at SADAA’s Boland RTs 2011 and became a Dog Jumping Champion (in KUSA).

Two and a half years ago, Dee adopted a tiny BC puppy from Border Collie Heaven. Little Zsa Zsa, has grown up into a turbo-charged missile.

“I’m trying to change my handling skills from ‘sure and steady’ to something approaching Mach 3. We’re still a work in progress, but we’re having the best fun ever!”
